In a Search engine optimisation campaign it is common knowledge that it is composed of several  strategies that are simultaneously being implemented in order to gain a search engine results page ranking (SERP ranking) in every search engine, most importantly on the big three search engines namely Google, Yahoo and Bing, whereby the purpose is to gain traffic coming from the said search engine and ultimately gaining a client base that may contribute into a potential sale or profit. Search engine optimisation strategies being utilised by SEO companies and SEO consultants may be categorised into two, these are, on-page and off-page optimisation.

An off-page optimisation strategy involves the use of strategies that would make the target website gain links coming from an external website, the processes in off-page optimisation is currently the most popular strategies being used because of the effects that it gives to the search engine results page ranking being given to the target website.

However, to gain and maintain traction in the search engine results page ranking (SERP ranking), on-page optimisation must also be performed. Often times, on-page SEO is being ignored because of the fact that some strategies involved in this category is being given lesser importance by search engines. But because of the fact that competition is very stringent in the field or marketing a website it is important to gain every little advantage and on-page optimisation is one way to go.

Here are some on-page optimisation strategies that you may employ and which might help in your overall SEO campaign.

1. Formulate an interesting, and well thought out domain name where in your most important keyword is inserted. The insertion of keywords in a domain name is important because this is the first part of the website that is going to be crawled by search engine bots and having a keyword inserted in the domain name would help in gaining an SERP rank.

2. Construct a solid site or link structure. This means that your website design and content must be relevant to the main theme of the website, on top of that internal links or the links that connects all your web pages in your website should be valid and no broken links must exist within the website.

3. Content must contain your keywords but in addition it should also be relevant, quality of the content must always be taken into priority over the quantity of keywords.
