It is important to integrate usability to your website design and development because it will help users have a good user experience when they visit your website. Thus links should be valid and forms, widgets and other of your websites’ features should function according to their intended purpose. Developing a website is a very tedious process, the planning alone would take a lot of your time, due to the fact that several components and criteria has to be taken into consideration especially so if you are planning your website to be an SEO-friendly website. This is one of the main reasons why website development should not be separated with the field of search engine optimisation. It is better to take both the key components of website design as well as the key components of search engine optimisation. The key components of website design may be different depending on the approach of the designer or the web developer however the main foundation components are always taken into consideration.

First component is the development or designing of the website according to its SEO components. If you decide to develop your website according to the key components then it is imperative that you have to plan out how SEO components would fit in to your website such as developing good content that incorporates the keywords of your website as well as incorporating alt text to the images used in your website.

Second, consider aesthetics as well as usability. These two major key components should be present in your website, aesthetics of course pertains to the overall design of your website while usability focuses on the validity of the links and different features of your websites whether or not it is functioning.

Third minimise the use of Flash animation, this is because of the fact that flash animations are not being crawled upon by the search engine bots thus it would therefore mean that it will now be detrimental to your website should you want it to be ranked in the search engine results page of any search engines. It would be better if you develop a combination of flash and html website in that way you could incorporate animation as well as crawlable text in your website.

Your website’s search engine results page ranking depends fully on how well you have performed search engine optimisation techniques. This means that have a poor SEO technique would push your website down the rankings and you might even find your website to be at the bottom of the search engine results page ranking. This is the main reason why proper SEO techniques and SEO strategies should be applied to your website. The main criteria that search engines are observed to be favoring as of the moment is the presence of quality content and quality links. The latter can be done by having a sound and strong link building strategy or campaign the former however would depend on your websites’ content quality. It is always being emphasised that websites must always contain quality content rather than contain quantity in terms of presence and use of keywords and even the number of text content present.

In writing the content of your website you must always remember that there are two audiences in your website, first is the search engine bots or spiders these are your website’s visitors which are concerned only of the presence of data or keywords in your content apart from other factors such as relevance of your site’s content to your website. The second type of audience is the actual visitor of your website, those that visit your website of course would care about the relevance and quality of text that you have incorporated in your website, your text content must be informative enough to answer the different questions that may be lurking within the mind of your visitor which led him or her to visit your site in the first place. Considering these two visitors in your website it is imperative that you have to consider the different criteria set by both types of website visitors and utilising them within the bounds of white hat SEO.

Search engine optimisation is a complex process; in fact it is so complex that many SEO companies and SEO consultants are forgetting the basics of SEO. A good SEO campaign must start correctly and that starting point is on the development of the website or the web pages. A good SEO campaign should start with a great website design, great in the sense that all aspects of SEO were taken into consideration in the designing of the website and its corresponding web pages.
In combining website design and SEO one must understand several factors among these factors is the complete knowledge of an entry and exit web page. The entry and exit web pages are considered to be the first page and the last page in your website but this does not necessarily mean that your last page would be the contact us page nor does it mean that the first page is the home page.

The entry page is the web page where the user or visitor is going to be directed within your website after clicking the link from a search engine result or clicking a link from another website, which may be from an advertisement, a blog, social network or a social bookmark. The exit page on the other hand are the pages that contains links that will direct your visitors away from your website which maybe a link going to a related website that you do not own. The purpose of having the entry and exit pages is to first create a sound link structure that search engine crawlers recognises as part of their standards for determining the rank of a website in their search engine results page and the second is to give visitors a pathway to move from the entry page to their choice of exit page, practically for convenience’ purposes.

In the world of Search engine optimisation nothing is permanent. Strategies come and go, or they become very important to less important. Take for example the use of meta elements, during the advent of search engine optimisation, meta elements are very important because it is the primary ranking factor for most search engines, unfortunately with the abuses on the use of the meta element search engines deemed it necessary to consider other ranking factors and remove if not lessen the importance of the meta element. This situation is common in the field of SEO because of the fact that such field always conforms to the new technologies that are introduced, which, as of now is the existence of Web 2.0 and real-time posts, now, search engines have already considered the importance of several Web 2.0 websites and in addition search engines have also integrated real-time search into their search engine algorithm in order to provide results in real-time in their search query.

Recent events have also been analysed and SEO companies and SEO Consultants are now looking into the possibility of search engines adding another ranking factor and that is the Page Speed. The page speed is considered to be the speed or amount of time that a website loads onto the web browser. Interviews with Matt Cutts, Google’s spokesperson, have hinted that indeed Page speed may be utilised by Google as a ranking factor, the reason for this is because they want to provide internet users better user experience.

Should Page speed becomes a ranking factor, SEO companies and SEO consultants should look into several suggested actions in order to speed up their websites’ page speed.

First, they have to look into the possibility of restructuring their website and converting images in their design that have a large file size. Consider replacing the image design with a degree lower resolution or with a smaller file size.

Second, SEO’s must also look into the possibility of transferring their hosting to a more dedicated server which of course would help increase the Page speed of the website as there would be no other websites being hosted on that said server.

Third, SEO’s must continue in developing and using unique content in order to lessen the spiders’ task of rechecking or counter checking the content with other websites which thus may not directly increase Page speed but it would rather increase crawling speed which

One main property that an internet user wants in a website is that it has to have a fast loading time. Knowing the importance of loading speed in the website  the following are some basic guidelines that would help you achieve faster website loading.

The usual format or file extension of light and compatible image files are those that are using the .png and the .jpg file extensions. These image files gives details in the image without the extra file size due to the fact that their compression rates are much more efficient.

2. Use images, texts and other design properties that are relevant to your entire website design, do not overpopulate your website with designs, in short do no overdo it.

Website design is a process of making a series of web pages that forms a website. It entails several factors or website design factors for it to be accomplished, one such factor is the use of the lingua franca of the web and that is the Hypertext Markup Language in addition to that another factor would be the effective use of the presentation language for the web, the cascading style sheets. Building a website should be in accordance with the specifications as given by the World Wide Web Consortium or W3C. As of the latest the W3C is using XHTML 1.0 as the standard lingua franca of the web, which means that the rules incorporated within XHTML 1.0 must strictly be followed by website designers and website developers. That is why there was a wide spread transition from HTML to XHTML when W3C approved the use of the latter as the standard. Many of the tags that were used in the website design process using HTML were already considered to be deprecated which means that it is outdated or obsolete and should not be used anymore. Since many new web browsers nowadays if not all web browsers conform to the standards set by W3C the codes that were deprecated will now become an error when the web page is displayed.

In order to avoid this types of problems in the future it is the duty of the website designer and web developer to constantly update the code of their website in order to conform to the latest standards that is being set by the W3C. Now talks about changing the standard XHTML 1.0 to HTML 5 is ongoing and there are a lot of new elements that will be incorporated should the HTML 5 version is going to be finally approved by the W3C.  Thus it is imperative that you have to prepare for this yet again change in standards. So how can one prepare? First you have to check your codes if it still has remnants of the older version of HTML if so you have to patch or fix this by changing it with the most appropriate tag or if it is a presentation tag then change it to a CSS code. In addition, you have to bear in mind the different rules in XHTML so that you will be able to see if your website is strictly following the set rules. Why is this important? This is because of the fact that such rules were created in order to make the website design process to be orderly and to conform to the set standards which is highly likely that will also be adapted by the next standard version if not with only minor changes or modifications. Finally constantly read the technical reports that is being released by the W3C to the public through their website to keep you informed on the latest regarding HTML 5.

One of the golden rules that website design providers should follow is that they should only create fast loading web sites. Even though you may have designed a great looking website, people will not stay long enough to see it if they become irritated with the snail-paced load. One of the ways to ensure a website design that would load fast is to minimize the use of images. Images do make pages look really good but images should not make up majority of your website design. Break it down as much as possible to essential HTML. If you notice, the well known sites have scarce images because load time is more important for them. Link building is also an important part of a websites development.

Once you have picked out the images that you would like to use and that fit your website design, make sure to optimize them. Use either gif or jpeg formats. Further trim down the image’s size by choosing the number of colors needed in the color palette. Fewer colors would result to a smaller sized image. Using tables wherever possible would also make your website design lighter and faster to load. Great looking designs can be integrated into tables and they can be used in the homepage, menus, and others. Most importantly, tables load very fast because they are just HTML code.

Simple and appropriately sized icons can also contribute to your website design. Use these only to highlight sections of your site. In connection with this, you can also minimize the use of animated gifs. This is because they would only add to the time that your website will load. In addition, they can be irritating and distracting to the visitor. In addition to the above, try using background images more than you do big images. This can be done for images in headers and footers. Another tip would be to use Flash sparingly. There are now a lot of sites out there that are made entirely of Flash. They may look fantastic but it takes a very long time to load and can then put off visitors. These are some tips you can use for a good website design.
