Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born may 14th in the year 1984, Zuckerberg is an American internet entrepreneur and a computer programmer. His most famous creation was Facebook, as he is the co-creator and now the president and chief executive of the infamous social network. Mark worked with classmates: Chris Hughes, Dustin Moskovitz and Eduardo Saverin whilst studying at Harvard University. Time magazine named Mark Zuckerberg the person of the year in 2010 and by 2011, his personal wealth was valued at roughly $13.5 billion.

A film called “The Social Network” was released in 2010. Jessie Eisenberg stars as Mark and plays his college life and the beginning stages of Facebook. The film received a Golden Globe award for the Best Picture in 2011.

One of Zuckerbergs smaller projects was Wirehog, due to Facebook’s original purpose was for photo sharing, Wirehog was essential for it to function. However, Facebook has developed into something much more complex and Wirehog would not be able to support it because it was only used for file sharing between two people, but Facebook shares not only images but all ranges of media and information to an endless amount of users.

Facebook was launched in Marks’ Harvard dormitory in 2004. Although the Facebook that is well recognised today was not what it originally was, it was originally a photo sharing programme exclusive for those on the campus, for a full history of Facebook, visit our infograph. The social network we all know as Facebook is now estimated to be worth $50 billion, this is an obvious sign for Zuckerbergs wealth and his success.

Many web users are unaware that there is in fact a committed organisation that monitors the core principles of the internet. SEO companies, however, are well aware of this governing body. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C for short) takes the objectives of the internet into consideration, such as the concept of sharing, interaction on a global scale and accessibility, and works to effectively standardize the web. W3C as an organisation fundamentally addresses the issues that affect a large number of web users and seeks to iron out the discrepancies between regions and platforms.

W3C was established in 1994 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Laboratory for Computer Science by the ‘creator’ of the world wide web, Tim Berners-Lee. The consortium was initially backed by the European Commission and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, sometimes referred to as DARPA. Berners-Lee noticed the inconsistency between web pages, for example in the case of HTML code (another of his inventions), and set up the organisation to make sure that the internet is accessible to users of all culture, backgrounds and resources.

There are several different committees involved in the organisation and a whole host of members. The long list of members includes such huge names as Microsoft, IBM, Apple and Adobe as well as a variety of research labs, academics and software providers. All of the affiliates work together to submit and approve Web Standards, and the research involved in the recommendations is funded by membership fees, grants and donations. The organisation also employs a small team of full-time employees, many of whom are stationed in offices around the world.

Many SEO Experts are anchoring their SEO campaign or efforts on the different current trending topics. However, for those SEO companies who are focused only on one niche it would be impossible to keep track of trending topics especially so if such niche is not really frequently trending. Trending issues may be tracked through Google trends and other third party website tracking application but as you may already noticed if you are a fan of such applications that it does not focus in on a single topic rather it presents a myriad of different trending topics. You may be able to focus on a topic through its trend search but you might just be disappointed on the results. A better way of a focused analysis on your chosen niche and even on your website is through your analytics. The analytics application is able to track visits to your website thus any data gathered from analytics would help you understand and determine the current trending topic in your webpage. First we have to understand several key features of analytics which is essential in determining your trending topic.

1. Pages/Visit – this part of your analytics application displays the average number of pages viewed for every visit.

2. Visits – a database of the number of unique visits initiated by the visitor to your website.

3. % New Visits – As the name implies this would be the total percentage of traffic or people who visited your website for the very first time.

4. Avg Time on Site – this is the time or average amount of time that your visitor spend viewing your website.

For you to become successful in tracking trends in your website it is imperative to give a full interpretation on the data gathered from the features as stated above. For the Visits feature you have to identify first the niche and the most likely causes of entry of traffic in your website, identify the traffic pattern and from there determine any spikes in data that could happen which could mean a trending in your website, this concept also is true with the data on Pages/Visits feature. For the Avg time on site again you have to determine the total average time spent by the user on your site before determining any sudden increase on data which you could later on interpret as a trend on your site and finally the % of New Visit determine a monthly average number of new users and if there are sudden increases that could be a trend in your site. Finding sudden spikes in your data could mean a trend on your website thus it would be time to investigate to determine what caused the spiking of data and how you could harness it to keep a steady increase in your traffic.

Understanding is the key to every endeavor, having a clear understanding of what is ahead and knowing the obstacles is considered to be the first step to solving the problem or achieving the goal. In the field of search engine optimisation, having a nature of being the most tedious online business, it is imperative for an SEO company and SEO consultant to learn every aspect of search engine optimisation as well as the target application that is the search engine. Previously, the different parts of a search engine in the front end were discussed, that is knowing the different parts of the search engine in order to accurately identify how data is presented by the search engine through its search engine results page. The second part in understanding the search engine is by understanding or simplifying the understanding on how search would occur or be implemented.

According to research and observations as well as explanations given by several search engine experts the process of search starts with the search engine bot or spider. A search engine bot or spides is simply a program that is developed in order to “crawl” and collect data from different websites and its role is to gather those that are most relevant to specific keywords and that it would return such data to the search engine for proper processing. According to SEO companies and SEO consultants who are experts in the field of search engine spiders there are two major roles that spiders undertake, the first one is to crawl and the second is to index.

The Crawling role of the spider is viewed as the ability of the program or algorithm (spider) to travel from page to page, website to website via the different links and it gathers relevant links and contents along the way.

The Indexing property of the spider is said to be its ability to create or build a database of phrases or keywords and relating such with the web pages or websites that contains similar or relevant information as well as relating such with other sites that links to another site.

They are actually the hardest type of website to have optimised. For this reason alone many people and businesses actually avoid having a flash site.

It is ok to have an element of the website in flash, for example a “flash banner” at the top of the website, or a “flash logo”, but my advice is to leave it there if you want to optimise the website.

Although performing SEO on a flash website is not easy, it is certainly possible, we have optimised a number of flash site onto the first page of the search engines of our clients desired key terms, you just need to know what to do (And we do).

It would be a good idea to submit you website to this directory, however I wouldn’t hold your beath for acceptance into the directory as it is widely known to be very timely to get accepted due to the sheer volume of submissions on a daily basis. Remember all editors are volunteers, so they only edit the directory in their spare time.

Deep linking is a term used for linking to other pages on a website rather than the homepage. The way to think of this, is to think of a family tree type graph. The homepage is at the top, and it then stems down to the pages that it links to directly, then those pages then stem down to other pages that they link to and the homepage does not link to, etc. You can now see why this is call “Deep Linking”.

It is much harder to gain links for other pages in a website rather than the homepage, especially when looking to gain links from dirrectories, however a successful SEO Company will know where to get links for these pages from experience.
