Second is to avoid using keywords with no actual relevance to the websites’ content and theme. Using the keywords that you want and not what you actually need is one of the main reasons why your website is not being indexed properly, thus it is imperative that you have to go through a keyword research process which would give you the most competitive and relevant keywords. Third, neglecting the link building process, the internet is about networking and connecting this means therefore that your website must also be linked not only internally but also externally.

The internal optimisation of web pages is called the on-page optimisation, this process involves the use of keywords not only within the websites’ content but also within the web pages’ title, meta keywords and meta description part. For a page title to become optimised it is imperative that uniqueness and accuracy or relevancy should be taken into primary consideration. The title tag will contain every web page’s title and when uniqueness is to be considered this would mean that the page title for each of the web page in the website should be independent or unique of each other, this is obvious because each web page is and should always be unique in content otherwise the web pages would only be a duplicate of the original.

Accuracy on the other hand falls into the category of the title being relevant to the web pages’ content. It must always be observed that the title be in congruence with the web pages’ content otherwise your web page or website will be considered as a spam website due to the nature of inaccuracy of data.

The battle for the number one spot is still on-going but for several years now Google still emerge victorious. The search engine giant has proven to be a strong and solid competitor in the world of search engines even during the time of crisis, to be more specific the Global Economic crisis. Google have even maintained their lead over even if the company has been constantly under fire. Who could forget the seemingly endless legal battle regarding Google docs?; Or the pressure being applied by China with regards to the search results of Google china? According to comScore the leader in information gathering, Google was able to gather 65.4% of the search market which is a drop from 65.7% from the previous month however such difference is negligible. Its competitors like Yahoo have dropped from 17.3% to 17% last December. For Microsoft’s Bing, they have gained from their previous market share of 10.7% to 11.3%, this gain can be attributed to the fact that Microsoft have done extensive marketing online and offline. In addition to this they have led the way into forging alliances with social media networks and those that are providing real time results among these were Facebook and Twitter.

With regards to Craigslist along with Facebook these social networks have entered comScores radar as they were able to post a record of six hundred thirty-six million searches and three hundred ninety-five million searchers respectively. The searches in the social network side have been increasing which is a proof that the social media network search is the next step into search engine optimisation.

As an initial test the access to the network would be given to several  trial locations with an estimated number of users from fifty to five hundred thousand.

The approach of Google in this endeavor is the same as when they introduced their own brand of mobile phones where Google utilised its own resources with the aim to change how present mobile phone carriers should operate, this is exhibited by Google’s Android and Nexus Phone where it is developed in order to foster a large volume of application development where manufacturers are able to adopt the device for free and providing a no-cost platform for application development.

This is because of the fact that these three are constantly competing for the number one spot that Google is currently holding in terms of internet users’ share and or number of searches. For several years Google have always been constant in the number one spot and such position of Google have sparked several events that are designed to topple the search engine giant. These moves were initiated by Microsoft as they have revised their search engine and called it Bing, they utilised a big portion of their finances to pay for the advertising of Bing prior to its launch and those moves still were not enough thus they have made a deal with the pioneer in search, Yahoo. Despite these efforts Google still remains to be at the top according to the information gathered by Experian Hitwise, in terms of number of search Google have gone down one percent but it is still the leader in the field of search engines, this is because Yahoo have also gone down with two percent and Bing gaining five percent. However, overall data would show that the search engine company, Google have maintained their lead keeping a distant 71.5% from other competitors’ accumulated total shares of 26.6 percent which includes Bing, Yahoo and Ask.com.
